We warmly congratulate Huadian Heavy Industry for driving the first piles at Jieyang Shenquan Wind Park. It takes many partners and a lot of coordination to get a windfarm built and it was inspiring to see how manager Ma led the effort and brought it to a quick success.
The ICE 500NF is playing a modest but crucial role in the process. The vibro is used to stabilize the monopile positioning frame by driving and extracting the frame’s four legs into the seabed. We are proud that ICE was selected as the vibro hammer supplier for this project.
What makes the 500NF stand out?
· Dieseko has built vibro’ s for close to 50 years and together with our longtime suppliers we have optimized all the components. This results in excellent performance and high reliability.
· Even at 1074t driving force and a 90t weight, the 500NF is a compact machine that needs little deck-space and is simple to hoist.
· The powerful 3200 hydraulic power pack enables the vibro to reach optimal performance, and to maintain the hydraulic pressure during the whole piling process even when the going gets tough. The forced lubrication ensures that hard driving conditions do not overheat the gearcase and impact the lifetime of the bearings.
· A customized stabbing point is bolted to the hammer to facilitate the positioning of the hammer on the pile even in gusty wind conditions.
· The positioning of the 4 clamps in an X configuration allows for further easy positioning and optimal transfer of centrifugal force down from the hammer and into the pile.
▲ ICE 500NF fitted with stabbing point for efficient pile positioning.
▲ Pile frame legs arrive, made up of two sections for transport and due to lifting height restrictions. Once welded the total length is 92 meters, diameter of 2700mm, with a weight of 170 tons.
▲ One leg down, three more to go!
▲ The mono pile is lifted from the transport vessel and upended.
▲ All 4 legs have been driven 20 meters into the seabed, stabilizing the frame. The mono pile is lifted in position and the verticality of the pile is adjusted with of hydraulic cylinders along the pile body.
▲ An impact hammer is used to drive the monopile to depth, for this project the client used an IHC S3000 hammer.
▲ Once the mono pile is installed, the 500NF comes back to lift the four legs into neutral position. The piles are fixed in travel position with a wedge.
▲ The 3200 is our most powerful power pack. It has 4 Volvo engines and offers 3072HP of power. Yet it is controlled by a simple wireless remote control.
▲ After the 4 legs are in “up position”, the frame is lifted by the two 1800t Huisman deck cranes and the piling vessel sails to its next position.
▲ The process starts again by vibrating the legs into position.
▲ Many hands make light work! Huadian invites their business partners for a group photo to mark the installation of the first mono pile.
▲ Time for a selfie with the ICE team!
▲ Arjen and Alex are ready to leave the ship.
▲ Goodbye!
