All major offshore wind turbine installation companies across the world are considering vibrating mono piles to design depth. The demand for an alternative to impact hammering is so urgent that a massive test set-up was made in 2014-15 to demonstrate the ability of the Giant 2000M offshore vibratory hammer. The test and its outcome have created a lot of buzz for Dieseko, and companies are now jockeying to be the first to reap the benefits of working with a Giant 2000M.

Here are the 7 reasons to make the switch to vibrating piles:

1.     Bringing down installation cost by employing more economical tools* such as a vibratory hammer

2.     Reducing pile fatigue and doubling design life to 50 years by introducing less energy into the pile during driving*

3.     Shortening pile driving times. Tests show the vibratory hammer drives down the pile 10 times faster*

4.     Limiting piling noise to improve working conditions on the piling boat for the construction team

5.     Changing pile designs and increasing pile diameters call for modular equipment that can be configured to drive piles from 3.5-8 meter in diameter

6.     The Giant 2000M is innovation is built up from time tested and mature components like the 500M, but in a novel set-up that reduces the complexity of synchronization, and the weight and height of the hammer, while increasing the structural rigidity and the dynamic range of pile diameter the hammer can handle

7.     Independent test results show end bearing and lateral bearing capacity of vibrated piles is within specification

*Compared to impact driving

The Giant 2000M is powered by four 500M sets and just four 3200 Hydraulic Power Units. The 500M and 3200 are the largest available in the market, which means that the extreme centrifugal force that is needed for large and long mono piles can be generated with just 3 or 4 sets. This reduces the deck space required for the ICE PVE vibratory hammer by 30% (compared to first generation technology solutions). Watch the video here: http://www.icevibro.com/product/64.html

The patented Giant 2000M matrix set-up designed by the Dieseko Group, manufacturer of the ICE and PVE brands of vibratory hammer, allows for a rigid setup, lifted from the four corners of the frame. Multi-level framed-in ring vibrator colossuses are out and light heavy-duty smart designs are in! Novel clamping solutions are available for all kinds of flanged piles.
