Tencent is famous for their 9-9-6 work ethic, but on the construction site we keep going 24-7 by working in shifts.
This weekend I visited the guys of Shanghai Construction Mechanization Group at their Tianmu Road project site. This elevated highway is part of the Beiheng Corridor. The Beiheng Corridor holds a special place in our hearts as it is the first project that was designed with vibrated foundation piles. We arrived around 4pm, came back after dinner, and stayed until about 1pm.
Right in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in Shanghai Jing'an District the client team was unloading steel piles from the truck, lifting them with the ICE Pile Lifting Device and driving them with the 70RF resonance free piling hammer in one smooth procedure.
Traffic on the intersection was uninterrupted, and the sound levels generated by the hammer and power pack were below the ambient traffic sounds allowing the team to work through the night.
The PLD, a device we have reported on a few times already, positions the hammer on the pile securely, saving valuable time.
